Volunteering

Calling all Volunteers!

Below is a list of items put together by the Buildings and Grounds team for those looking to complete the required volunteer hours. Hours for these activities will be tracked via a special building and grounds binder, located in the rink office.

 

KENOSHA ICE BUILDINGS AND GROUNDS VOLUNTEER TASK LIST

 

BLEACHER AREA (Entire South Side of Rink)

This task takes approximately three hours for one person to complete. Volunteer hours will be divided by the number of people completing the task. This task should be completed once per week.

  • Sweep and mop bleachers, empty garbage cans.
  • Clean girl’s locker room. Empty garbage can.
  • Clean hallways behind bleachers and hallway by skate sharpening.  Empty garbage.

UPSTAIRS MEETING ROOM

This task takes approximately one hour for one person to complete.  Volunteer hours will be divided by the number of people completing the task.  This task should be completed once per week.

  • Empty garbage.
  • Clean tables.
  • Vacuum floor and steps.

LOBBY

This task takes approximately one hour for one person to complete.  Volunteer hours will be divided by the number of people completing the task.  This task should be completed twice per week.

  • Clean and wipe down drinking fountain.
  • Clean door glass and glass above counter top.
  • Wipe down tables, counter top, chairs, stools.
  • Wipe down candy and pop machines.
  • Vacuum carpet and floor. Spot mop.
  • Empty garbage.

BATHROOMS

This task takes approximately one hour for one person to complete.  Volunteer hours will be divided by the number of people completing the task.  This task should be completed twice per week.

  • Empty garbage.
  • Sanitize toilets and urinals.
  • Wipe down stalls.
  • Fill toilet paper, paper towels, and soap if needed.
  • Sweep and mop floors.

PLAYERS’ BENCH AREA (Entire North Side of Rink)

This task takes approximately 1½ hour for one person to complete.  Volunteer hours will be divided by the number of people completing the task.  This task should be completed twice per week.

  • Empty garbage from all receptacles including referee room.
  • Clean and organize equipment area.
  • Clean score box including wipe down glass.
  • Sweep and mop player’s benches.
  • Clean referee room.
  • Sweep and mop player’s entrance area.

LOCKER ROOM BATHROOMS

This task takes approximately one hour for one person to complete.  Volunteer hours will be divided by the number of people completing the task.  This task should be completed twice per week.

  • Empty garbage.
  • Sanitize toilets and urinals.
  • Wipe down stalls.
  • Fill toilet paper, paper towels, and soap if needed.
  • Sweep, pick up mats, mop floors.

 

OUTSIDE TASKS TO BE COMPLETED AS NEEDED

  • Walk around and pick up garbage in parking lot and field.  Hours will be awarded based on actual time logged with rink employee.
  • Shovel sidewalks, steps and all doorways that must be cleared for safety reasons. Salt all areas as needed.
  • Cut grass on hill and near building with push mower.  Pull weeds in landscaping.

 

NOTE:  For other special projects or tasks, please confer with the Rink Manager.
