Bantam A Team Wins Rolling Thunder Tournament

Congratulations to our Bantam A Team who won the “Rolling Thunder” Hockey Tournament!

The tournament was held this past weekend in St. Louis, MO.  The competition included teams from Missouri, Tennessee, Illinois, and Wisconsin.  The Championship game was held Sunday afternoon at the Hardee’s Iceplex in Chesterfield, MO where the Komets faced off for a second time against the Chesterfield Falcons. 

Their first encounter on Friday evening was a win for the Komets with a score of 3-1. The Championship game was an exciting rematch for the two teams.  The competitive game remained tied at zero for the entire first period and most of the second period.  With 35 seconds remaining on the clock in the second, the game’s first goal was scored by David Daavettila (#16) with and assist from Logan Albright (#20). 

In the third period, the Falcons tied things up with 8:08 remaining.  The 1-1 score did not last long.  Liam McAloon (#64) answered back 31 seconds later.  He shot the game winning goal with an assist from Daavettila.  The final score Komets over the Falcons (2-1).  Liam McAloon was recognized as the game’s MVP.

Friday night 8:35 vs Chesterfield Falcons (MO) – Komets win 3-1

Saturday morning 11:05 vs. St. Louis Rockets (MO) – Komets win 7-2

Saturday afternoon 4:20 vs. Affton Americans (MO) – Komets win 4-2

Sunday morning 9:30 vs. Nashville Flyers (TN) – Komets win 5-3

Championship Game Sunday afternoon – rematch 3:30 vs. Chesterfield Falcons (MO) – Komets win 2-1
